Transport around Auckland
Auckland has an abundance of travel options, so not only is it easy to get to Auckland, it is easy to get around. Options from the airport include rental cars, luxury coach, helicopter, private tour companies, taxi services, airport shuttles and airport buses.
Upon departing the airport, the travel options expand. Apart from a wide range of rental cards which are available for pick up at Auckland International Airport and throughout the central city. Auckland coach companies specialise in providing charter services around the regions or there are several scheduled daily coach tours.
The Britomart Transport Centre located in downtown Auckland is the main hub for public transport. There are scheduled trains services running to the east, south and west of the city stopping at major suburbs along the way.There is a convenient selection of scheduled bus services throughout the city, including a free bus that runs in a circuit around the inner city. The Link bus runs every 10-20 minutes around the city fringe areas including Ponsonby, Parnell and Newmarket.
Auckland’s location on the water means there are several ferry services running frequently to the surrounding islands and regions of Auckland including the North Shore and Manukau.
